Meet Sister, a classy and well-made Palomino mare standing between 14.3–15 hands and weighing a solid 1000+ lbs. She’s the kind that catches your eye in the pasture with her build and color, and she’s just as good-minded as she is pretty.
Sister has been used for play day events and breakaway roping. She has been started tracking cattle on the heel side, both on the dummy and live cattle, and she has also been used for pinning and sorting cattle in the pasture. Outside the arena, she has plenty of trail experience. She has been ridden through the woods, across creeks in Little River Swamp, and along the trails of Kisatchie National Forest. If you point her at it, she will go through it.
She recently completed forty-five days of professional training after being laid off for about a year due to her previous owner’s illness. During this time, she was legged back up and is now moving sharp and ready to continue in whatever direction her new rider chooses. She walks, trots, loads, hauls, and pastures well with others. She has a super smooth lope, a nice big stop, and she was started correctly, making her soft in the bridle, responsive to leg pressure, and quick to learn.
At nine years old, Sister is in the prime of her life and has both the foundation and the mind to finish out your way. She has the potential to be finished as a rope horse, put to steady ranch work, or enjoyed as a solid all-around trail and pleasure partner. She is versatile, smart, and willing, the kind of horse that will step up to a job and stay honest while doing it.
